Gravitational ray tracing
Each pixel traces a light ray bent by Schwarzschild gravity. The warped disk above and below is the back side of the disk, curved by gravitational lensing.
Doppler effect
The bright side approaches you. The dark side recedes. Relativistic beaming.
Dynamic torsion
Einstein: spacetime curves. Torsion: it also twists. Increase η to see the shadow grow and spirals appear.
Planet deformation
Near the black hole, two deformations act:
Mechanical — Tidal forces physically stretch the planet. Real and permanent.
Optical — Light bends, distorting the planet's image. It recovers when leaving the curvature zone.
In dynamic torsion, optical distortions don't match physical deformation — a unique signature.
